The Regional Tax Office, Islamabad on Thursday has sealed five prominent restaurants in Islamabad on account of issuing fake invoices/receipts. The action was taken after citizens/consumers reported that the restaurants were issuing counterfeit receipts/invoices.
This is in line with FBR’s drive to bring Tier-1 Retailers/Restaurants under the tax net through POS Invoicing system.
After determining the inauthenticity of the reported receipts through POS tracking software under an already devised procedure, a team of RTO Islamabad led by Deputy Commissioner sealed five restaurants in Islamabad and also imposed a total penalty of Rs.1.5 Million on these restaurants.
It is pointed out that FBR has launched the Point of Sales Prize Scheme from 25th October. In the first phase, the Scheme has been introduced in Islamabad for Tier-1 restaurants which will then be extended to all Tier retailors and finally across the entire country by the end of this month. Under the Scheme, citizens/consumers who will report fake receipts through Tax Asaan APP to FBR will get varying cash rewards. After verifying the fake receipts under a devised procedure, FBR will transfer the cash prizes directly into the bank accounts of the winners. The reported Tier-1 Retailers/Restaurants will then be sealed for issuing fake receipts.
This important initiative aims at discouraging the fake invoices culture by ensuring that the due taxes are deposited in the national exchequer. FBR is committed to ensure tax compliance through effective enforcement of tax regulations.

ریجنل ٹیکس آفس اسلام آبادنے جمعرات کے روز شہر کے پانچ معروف ریسٹورنٹس جعلی رسیدیں جاری کرنے پر سیل کردیئے۔ یہ کاروائی شہریوں/صارفین کی طرف سے موصول ہونے والی شکایات پر کی گئی کہ یہ ریسٹورنٹس جعلی رسیدیں جاری کررہے ہیں۔ یہ اقدام فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو کی طرف سے ٹیئر1 ریٹیلرز/ریسٹورنٹس کو پوائنٹ آف سیل (POS) انوائسنگ سسٹم کے ذریعے ٹیکس نیٹ میں شامل کرنے کی کوششوں کے تسلسل میں اُٹھایا گیا ہے ۔
پہلے سے وضع کردہ طریقہ کار کے تحت پوائنٹ آف سیل ٹریکنگ سافٹ ویئر کے ذریعے جعلی رسیدوں کی تصدیق کے بعد آر ٹی او اسلام آباد کی ٹیم نے ڈپٹی کمشنر کی قیادت میں پانچ ریسٹورنٹس کو سیل کرکے ان پر مجموعی طور پر پندرہ لاکھ روپے جرمانہ عائد کردیا۔
یہاں یہ بات قابل ذکر ہے کہ ایف بی آر نے پچیس اکتوبر سے پوائنٹ آف سیل انعامی سکیم شروع کی ہے پہلے مرحلہ میں یہ سکیم اسلام آباد میں ٹیئر 1 کے ریسٹورنٹس کے لئے متعارف کرائی گئی ہے جسے بعد میں تما م ٹیئر کے ریٹیلرز اور پھر اس ماہ کے آخر سے پورے ملک تک توسیع دی جائے گی۔ اس سکیم کے تحت جو شہری/ صارفین ٹیکس آسان ایپ کے ذریعے جعلی رسیدوں کے بارے میں ایف بی آر کو مطلع کریں گے اُنہیں نقد انعامات دیئے جائیں گے۔ ایک خاص طریقہ کار کے تحت جعلی رسیدوں کی تصدیق کے بعد ایف بی آر جیتنے والے صارفین کے بینک اکاونٹس میں نقد انعامات براہ راست منتقل کرے گا۔ جن ٹیئر 1 ریٹیلرز/ریسٹورنٹس کے خلاف رپورٹ کی جائے گی انہیں جعلی رسیدیں جاری کرنے پر سیل کر دیا جائے گا۔
یہ اہم اقدام جعلی رسیدوں کے رجحان کو روکنے کے لئے اٹھایا گیا ہے تاکہ واجب الادا ٹیکس قومی خزانہ میں جمع ہو سکیں۔ ایف بی آر ٹیکس قوانین کے موثر نفاذ کے ذریعے ٹیکس کمپلائنس کو یقینی بنانے کے لئے پر عزم ہے۔ ***
